It's a new day!

I erased all my old political posts and need to focus on religion now.

I've been thinking about writing an atheist bible.
Maybe I could become the first atheist preacher.
You can stay home every Sunday and surf the Internet just don't forget to send me $20.00.

I still don't like Eric Clapton (sorry had to eject a song in Pandora)

Why am I atheist? (you may ask)
I think it all comes down to "Occam's Razor" this whole "life after death" things seams so far fetched. Just like every other thing on this planet ... we live we die that's it. Seams pretty straight forward to me. Easy peasy even. No need to complicate it. No need to worry about it. When your dead you wont care anymore.

Chapter one: Truth
Life is fair, do not allow people to engage you otherwise. If someone tells you life is not fair correct them. Good things happen to horrible people and horrible things happen to good people. That makes it perfectly fair by being equally unfair to everyone. In other words: life on this planet is oblivious to us humans. All of our inconsequential whining, planning and scheming has no effect on volcanoes, hurricanes. or birds that decide to take on a jet airplane. Get over it, we are not gods. Hell we spend a good portion of our lives unable to wipe our own ass like every other animal on this planet. If I ran the school district I would add a semester long class on humility just to drive the point home. However, we are alive. We should be thankful for all that allows. Life in all its fleeting, frail, finality, is still full of mystery for those of us brave enough to watch it pass. Just keep in mind "smarter don't make you better" it usually just makes you more miserable.
There is not a day that goes by that I don't wish I could go back to the ignorant bliss of my catholic youth. I consider coming out as an atheist just as challenging as coming out as a homosexual (which I thankfully am not .... not that there is anything wrong with that). Both announcements have a similar effect in that 90+% of the people on the planet will either hate you, be disgusted by you or pity you. None of which is desirable.

Next truth
There is only one race of humans on the planet earth. There is NO real scientific evidence that any physical traits pertaining to cranium size or genetic variations has ever categorized the species correctly. The idiot Johann Friedrich Blumenbach was not the first to use race as a way to identify groups that we could hate. It drives me to distraction that we still use this word after we mapped the human genome. So on the night that our multicultural leader of the free world sat down to drink a beer with a white cop and a dark skinned Harvard professor I beg everyone to drop the word race. For when that happens ... how would we know who to hate?

Observations and recommendations regarding race and genetics by the National Human Genome Center of Howard University*
  1. When the human species is viewed as a whole, underlying genetic variation and expressed physical traits exhibit gradients of differentiation, not discrete units. Therefore, modern extant humans do not fracture into races (subspecies) based on the modern phylogenetic criteria of molecular systematics.
  2. The biological “boundaries” between any human divisions (groups, populations, nationalities) are circumstantial and largely dependent on what traits are chosen for emphasis.
  3. The demographic units of human societies (and of the U.S. census) are the products of social or political rules, not the forces of biological evolution. The names and characteristics of demographic groups can change and have changed over time.
  4. Group differences in health parameters are not encoded in the human genome as part of an evolutionary pattern of divergence. Thus, differences in health or disease cannot be treated as causally related to ethnoancestral groups.
  5. Genotype-environment interactions are more important in explaining group differences in health than genotype, environment, or a factor called “race”.
  6. The non-existence of human races (subspecies) does not mean the non-existence of racism. Racism is the structured systematic oppression against individuals and groups defined based on physical traits that reflect an extremely limited fraction of the human genome. Racism must be addressed.
  7. Individuals cannot be treated as representative for all those who physically resemble them, or have some of the same ethnohistorical ancestry. Ancestries of individuals and groups should be ascertained in order to evaluate differential expression of genetic effects.
